Yes. I can tell you that when I was your age I was in a scary relationship. I felt the same way that you do now. Confused, scared, lonely....nothing good. No matter what you do there are going to be a lot of times that you feel this way in this relationship if he is scary. Time is the best teacher...and if you can learn from my time, go to court. Tell the judge that you want it in place. Let this man know he can't hurt you....that you are worth so very much more than that. Please don't ever loose sight of the fact that you are precious and deserve all the good in life that you can find. After court you can decide if you want him with you, this will be over his head, it will be over his head even if you take away, he will be angry and resentful about it. I hope you find it within yourself to find a more positive adventure for yourself in this life. you will be glad you did. Be careful, and be safe.

Why would you want to drop it? It is a serious matter. If you felt you were in danger, you did the right thing. If you don't show up for the court date, it will be dropped. But, the next time something happens and you REALLY do need a protective order, it will be more difficult for you to get one. If you are dropping it because he is playing with you and telling you that he is sorry and won't do it again, and please drop it against him... YOU SHOULD NOT. Been there done that, be careful.

It really is up to you, you only have one time that you can "plead the 5th" against your husband... Its like crying wolf, if there are witnesses that the prosecutor can call on he/she will, they did that to me. she threatened to put my 8 yr old on the stand to testify that his father strangled me and he jumped on his back to make him stop. however, you will still have to go to court to do that, IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE, so regardless you are in it... your husband will receive a 2nd degree assault charge and if he does not have a prior record will get 12 month suspended sentence with probation, which means that if he gets arrested during his probation he will have to spend that 12 months behind bars, and a normal protective order begins with a 2 week period, if he contests it then it goes to a testimony style court. if he is not there for the first hearing it means that he agrees to it and you will return for the 2nd hearing agreeing that the protective order will be extended for a year, if he is caught at your home he will be arrested and you could possibly get into some trouble also...

I don't know why you took this restraining order against your husband, but I guess you were scared at that time, and thought you wanted the laws to protect you. Why do you want to get rid of it ? did your husband threat you ?. If you drop the complain, you don't have to go to court, if you don't go to court, there will be no hearing.
If you want to drop that complain, go to the court clerk and tell him you want to drop your complain against your husband: the clerk will tell you what to do.

In the state of Ky... you can get locked up for not going to court after you have taken out an EPO on someone... the state is getting tired of people having friviolous arguements and taking out EPO's thinking they are not serious. So, in Ky you can get an contempt of court charge for no showing up!
