Non-surrogate friendly states do not have laws that protect surrogates or the intended parents. They do not recognize surrogacy or the contracts which coud lead to big trouble. Your best bet woudl be to deliver in a surrounding surro-friendly state. California is great. I'm a 3x surrogate in TX which is also very "surro-friendly"

The 1st has lists of agencies by state and also info on laws in each state. Good luck!!

Most agencies will not accept surrogates from the state of Washington. I'm not sure if there is a way around that, but it's to protect everyone involved.

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to this, but I also live in Washington and was surprised to read your question! What does it mean when you say we aren't a "surrogate friendly state?"
