You can swim, but you cannot use a tampon (so swimming would kinda be gross). I suggest waiting to swim, but that is up to you. Usually you will stop bleeding in water, so maybe that would be an option for you as well.

Not supposed to use a tampon till after your 6 week check, you need to be looking for clotting etc and not likley to see this if you do. As your'e not going to swim with out one then swimming is out too. As for one of the other answers who says how can you be bleeding you dont get a period for months after giving birth? I bleed for about 3 weeks after birth and then got a period abo 2 weeks after that. Thats how people end up pregnant straight after giving birth, becouse they dont beleive they are gonig to get periods back for months.

No, you can't use a tampon for after-birth flow: it's full of clots and I think there's actually some chance of the tampons getting lost.
I don't think it's wise to do something so strenuous while you're still experiencing lochia.

You cannot use a tampon, so you can't swim. They tell all new moms that in the hospital.

first people tat answer pregnancy, birth, or post birth questions should have been through these things. no you can not use a tampon your cervix is still slightly dilated for up to six weeks and sticking anything in there could intro duce infections. if it is your own pool yes you can swim (no tampons) if it is a public pool you can't because many disgusting people pee in public pools. hope this helps

right - nothing inserted for 6 weeks, cause infections! Dont swim for 6-8 weeks - until bleeding is done and you are completely healed

WOW! you sure do have a lot of time on your hands for someone who allegedly just had a baby. So your baby was born at 34 weeks and your on the internet, wow my son was born 5 weeks early and was in the neonatal unit for 2 weeks and i was in the hospital with him. You didn't have a baby and you were never pregnant, get over yourself.
