Do you bother to pretend like you are doing work or does no one even notice?
I just keep printing stuff over and over so it SOUNDS like I'm busy =)

I am fortunate that I am back in a corner so I have no traffic. But, what I used to do would be to pick up the phone a talk really loud about something completely fictional and wait for the rumor mill to churn

LOL I pretend...I don't know why, the people surrounding me have considerably more important jobs than I do and they all chit-chat about BS all day! I wish I wasn't so out in the open....but being the receptionist is like the most out-in-the-open person here!

I spread the books, papers, and files around. Most of the time I am working but sometimes my mind wanders off for 5 to 10 minutes.

lol Yeah pretend. Do you know the alt/tab trick? If you're online and not supposed to be, like maybe on here! alt/tab will quickly flip you to your last screen. My boss actually taught me that trick, so then I learned to use it against him! =)

They can't see my screen, so I guess they think I'm just typing letters and reports and then I shuffle papers from one side of my desk to the other.............lol

I always keep a document open to tab too. You are so bad wasting all that paper, I can hear the trees falling now......
