My mum is in hospital, and has only been for a day, shes finding it really boring, she isnt really ill - like needing to lay down all the time. Shes up. What things can i take in to keep her occupied? She doesnt really like books.
Any ideas welcome!

If possible, she could visit other patients. It passes a lot of time, and is really a pleasure for many patients. Our son used to be in the hospital a lot and he, my wife, and I used to frequently make the rounds on his floor to visit as many patients as possible, as long as they were healthy enough to vjsit. It helps them pass some time as well as yourself.

Going down to the children's ward and playing games with them is very good too. They usually have a room with games, puzzles, and toys for the kids. Tell her to treat the kids like her grandchildren (i.e. spoil them rotten.)

Does she like puzzle books? Crosswords and the like? Probably not if she doesn't read. There's TV.
