I don't want to give out the guy's name, but he and three other guys (all e-mail / chatroom buddies) have unlocked the Apple iPhone to work w/ other cellphone service companies.
What really grabs me is this: The hacker BLOG posts the entire instructions on how to unlock the iPhone for the whole online planet to see....then he cries out "I don't want people making money off this." Read on why........
Before you rule out this hacker-quacker kid as a dolt, HE'S OFFERING HIS SERVICES AND UNLOCKED iPhones TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER ( s ) (sounds like playing with corporate fire to me).....AND HE'S GETTING SERIOUS "BITES" !!!
But be assured he has copy-quackers also out there, all trying to scam off the $$$ bucks for their own slice of greed pie.
Kinda serves AT & T: Your World.....Monopolized and Apple both right to have this "fly in the ointment" done them for even trying to corner the global iPhone market. Apple CEO Steve Jobs is about to learn yet another heart-breaking embarrassing lesson real fast: Monopolize high tech--get burned......BY A KID!!!!
But the hacker-quackers also need a lesson served them: Monopoly Corporations have razor sharp legal shark teeth: careful playing w/ those e-mail, blog and Ebay "bites" you're getting..............
.......this saga "To Be Continued" ( and the fight ought to get real good)............

While there are several ways of unlocking the iPhones, they are not for the novice or faint of heart, as the procedures required are taking the iPhone apart, making hardware changes, and then software changes. If the results are unsuccessful, it could ruin the iPhone and would be a very costly mistake. Then again, in that case you can use the iPhone as a very sleek looking paper weight! Proceed with caution.

Various hacking sites have been trying to hack the iphone for a while. They have done it, but the phones capabilities are somewhat limited if the carrier isnt at&t. Try googling it im sure a million results will come up.

Yes, this is true. If a phone is unlocked, it can be used with any carrier (t-mobile, tracfone, at&t, virgin mobile, ect.) and any plan (pay as you go, pick you plan, ect..) When AT&T released the iphone, they locked it to their network. Many hackers figured out how to unlock it so it can be used with any network around the world!
