Has anyone seen this series? I LOVE medieval movies....but have not seen Rome yet. Is it good? Can you tell me a little about it?

Rome is an excellently made adult mini-series combining the best aspects of a buddy movie, an historical re-creation of a pre-Christian era, a very intense and sexually convoluted soap-opera and probably the most violent and bloody offering I've seen that's been made for television.
The acting and writing are superlative. The sets and art direction are unparalleled. The re-creation of Rome, its traditions, its customs and citizenry are pretty accurate, although the events of the story are fictional. The drama is vibrant, yet the amounts of sex and violence are disturbing.
I'd recommend this series for mature watchers only. You've been cautioned.

It's not medieval, it's about Rome during Ceasar's consolidation of power and after his murder. Although they are quite liberal with their interpretation of history, it's an excellent series.

it's okay, I've seen a few episodes, it's very DARK. They're is a lot of violence, and sex.. (and not the good kind of sex .. I'm talking like they attack some guy in the bathroom and all take turns taking him up the Ya know....
