What do you think is the basis of poverty in the world?

in other words, why do you think that there is so much wealth differentiation between countries, cultures etc.

I'm talking about the BASE cause, not "because that country has more money." or "they don't have motivation." etc ...

I believe the base cause of poverty in the world is the inability of leaders to provide for their citizens and the interference of other nations. For instance, when The slaves of Haiti defeated the Spanish, British, and finally the French, France threaten that if Haiti does not pay them an amount of money that would add up to almost 300 million dollars it would not recognize its right to exist...That along with over 200 years of dictatorship adds up to one thing....Poverty
