Well it is hard to compare these guys because they played different positions. But undoubtedly two of the greatest players to ever play the game. The biggest reason why it's almost impossible to compare these 2 players is that Pistol Pete only played 1 short season with the 3 pt line. And if you watched Piston Pete play during his prime, you would know a good portion of his shots came from way out. Considering he averaged 24.2 ppg for his career in the NBA, God knows how much he would've averaged if he played with a 3 pt line. It was calculated by Dale Brown that Maravich would've averaged 57 points per game in college, had he played with a 3 pt line. I say Larry Bird is better because he was a better team player. Maravich was not a team player. He only averaged 5.4 assists per game for his career, that's not too good for a guard. Bird was just a great all around player. He could rebound, steal, pass, and most of all shoot. Even though he wasn't as athletic as everybody else, he out-thought everyone.

Edge to Bird for his all around play but Maravich was a great player.

Larry would win he is much bigger and is a 3 point machine. Pete can shoot and pass but larry can dunk, shoot, and down low score.

it depends they are both really good shooters but pistol is a better ballhandler but larry would just post up all day and probably block everything. so i would say larry.
