I'm spending a couple nights in Bodega Bay and I'm looking for interesting and unique things to do and places to eat while there. I'll be with my 4yr old daughter and wife, so kid friendly places and activities are key. And I'm happy to drive 30-45 min if its really great.

Thanks!

The Doran Beach is fantastic, sometimes windy, Bring a Kite. The Wharf area is good. There is a great giftshop and goumet food shop/deli/fishmarket. Check out the pictures on the walls near the restaurant. There is the town of Bodega, just inland where they also filmed part of the movie "The Birds". The Schoolhouse is up on the hill. There are a few shops & restaurants there too.
Inland further is the town of Occidental. The historic Union Hotel is worth a stop for lunch or dinner, It has great family style Italian menu. Lots of food and pasta! There is also a novel, toy/thing shop (for lack of a better name) across the street with hard to find things like 'Gumbies' and toys made before video games.

There's a fabulous seafood place called Inn At The Tides. Kid-friendly, great food, and beautiful views of the bay. The crab cakes are to die for.

You can go out on the bay on a canoe or go to the beach area, which is really nice. Also Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was filmed there, so that could be cool.
