It kind of sucks but it's true. In any romantic relationship, whichever partner is less interested in the other one- even just a little bit- has the power.

Lakin J. - I have to admit that I am the one who loves less. I try not to respect her. I DO. But it can't be helped that I have more power by default. Simply because worse case scenario, if we stop seeing each other, she will be more hurt than me. It's not fair. But it's true.

It's not ALWAYS true. It used to always be the man who had more power, though not anymore.

Sometimes the person with more power is the person w/ more financial clout. Sometimes it's the person who loves in a more clearheaded way and doesn't let emotion get the better of them.

I know exactly what your talking about! I've noticed that a lot of the dynamics of the relationship depends on the character of the "less loving" person. Most of them are well aware of the power they possess and it's up to them how they use it.

Yes that makes sense.

Not really sure why it's surprising nor that it's a good thing to aspire to.
