I was just wodering if anyone had any ideas about a type of shower that I could throw myself...something lik a baby naming party or somehing of that nature. Its not for gifts or anything like that but something I could put pictures in the baby book for memories and all. Thak you in advance.

I like your idea of the baby naming party.
We did a meet and greet for my sec son.
But we also allowed for gifts.
Some people just like to do that.
Can can even do a come and go meet and great that way people can come and go between the time you set and don't feel like they have to stay the whole time and your house doesn't over flow.
Kinda like a baby open house.

How far along are you? You could have a "Half-way there" party around month 5. Just a get together, or bar-b-q! If you are further along you can have a welcoming party before the baby comes and video tape "welcomes" from the guest to be shown to the baby when he/she is older. or when you find out the sex of the baby you could have a "It's a Girl" party (or "boy"). People will come to celebrate your joy and the wonderful little life coming soon. Just explain that after the baby comes things will be too crazy to have a party. Good Luck!

I am in the same situation and don't think a shower is appropriate. We are thinking about just a casual lunch party and cake to celebrate our child, but without the gifts. If someone insists on giving, ask that they donate to an organization to help children or a charity of your choice.

I think just throw yourself a regular baby shower and get the gifts and play fun games. If you have a few names in mind then play that as a game have everyone vote on there favorite. or something similar. Good luck

You should never throw a baby shower for yourself. I like the other posting about a baby welcoming party. Make sure that you put something about no gifts on the invitation or else you could come off as tacky. Maybe "please no gifts, you being here to welcome our baby is the gift".

Yep, I agree with the one ahead of me, Meet the baby parties are fun and people will bring food and gifts whether they're supposed to or not...it's win-win! =-)

well I know my cusion she had a diaper party....all she asked is people show up and if they want they could always just bring diapers. and she had a fish bowl where everyone would put in names for the baby! best wishes

dont throw yourself a shower. pretty rude to do. maybe just have a get together after the baby gets here.

have a welcome baby party after the arrival, so you can get all the visits out of the way at one time!!!
