Your spouse is hundreds of miles from you, having an affair. As he/she reaches climax you experience rise in body temp, eratic heart palpitations. At the moment he/she reaches orgasim so do you. But you go into cardiac arrest. No one is around to revive you, but then suddenly and mysteriously you "self revive" and all your bodly functions return to normal. And perhaps you can scense that each time this happens the nearer to death you come (no pun intended). Science Fiction? Maybe. I'm researching diffrent ideas for writing purposes. What would be a good name for this phenomenon? Just need help Brain-Storming!!! Give it a shot... be creative.

check out soul mate on wikipedia, plato's symposium might interest you.

Aristophanes
There were three sexes: the all male, the all female, and the "androgynous," who was half man, half woman. The creatures tried to scale the heights of heaven and planned to set upon the gods (190b-c). Zeus thought about just blasting them to death with thunderbolts, but did not want to deprive himself of their devotions and offerings, so he decided to cripple them by chopping them in half.

After chopping the people in half, Zeus turned their faces around and pulled the skin tight and stitched it up to form the belly button. Ever since that time, people run around saying they are looking for their other half because they are really trying to recover their primal nature. He says some people think homosexuals are shameless, but he thinks they are the bravest, most manly of all (192a), and that heterosexuals are mostly adulterous men and unfaithful wives (191e).

Soulmate emotional theory
Ultimately the consequence of this notion is the unfortunate reality that soulmates often possess the ability to inflict serious emotional injury unto their twin flame, greater than any other being could. This often results in the separation of idealized love, due to the severe emotional impact.

adding that up its got to be something like
Traumatic Orgasmic Aristophanal Degenerative Syndrome or something, TOADS haha!.

If you like my stuff, mention Koozie in the book! Love to see it.

You woudl call it EBC: Extremely Big Coincidence. Your spouse having an affair hundreds of miles away will not cause you to have an orgasm or heart attack. There is no principle that allows for anything remotely like this.

Nothing quite this vivid, but I had someone I loved dearly and deeply cheat on me. She lied about where she was going and who she was going to be with and what she was going to do. While she was away I knew what was happening. I was sooooo cold....and felt like a spiritual pain inside. My heart hurt, but not like a heart-attack kind of thing.

I knew what was happening....I could smell it....feel it.....I felt my 'self' being destroyed by what she was doing. I had to suffer with this until I could talk to her face to face and ask.

Fortunately she wasn't a liar. She was evasive about answering, and I knew this, so I asked specific questions that had only one answer, not ones that you could take either way.....yanno? To avoid vagueness so that she couldn't soften the blow for herself so-to-speak.

I was right about what she did......that was the last time she ever saw me.

I don't attribute this to anything more than just being in tune with the person I love. Knowing them, being one with them....no more no less.

You're going to have to explore the mechanism that would cause something like that to happen. Why would this only happen to a married couple? You would have to impart some sort of cosmic connection between to married people. Otherwise this sort of thing couldn't really happen. That or one of the two (assuming the "receiver") would need to have some sort of supernatural powers.

You need a name for it? How about trans-corporeal pathocardiorgasmacitis? (TPCO)

I don't know about the cardiac arrest stuff.
But reaching an orgasm at the same time as your spouse who happens to be miles away is usually called phone sex.
