The answer is -3. No need for a radical. When you take -3 to the third power, you get -27 back.
Somebody else said 3i, but cubing this gives you 27(i^3) = -27i, not -27.

Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be: -27^1/3 = -3
test it: -3^3 = -3 x -3 x -3 = -27. No imaginary numbers here!

z=-27+0i
angle=180
|z|=27
z=r(cosx+isinx)
z=27(cos(k360+180)+isin(k360+180))
z^(1/3)=3(cos(k120+60)+isin(k120+60)
w0=3(cos60+isin60)=3(1/2+isqrt(3)/2)
w1=3(cos 180+isin 180=3(-1+0i)
w2=3 (cos 300+isin300)=3(1/2-isqrt(3)/2)
