I think women need to protected from all the movies with foul language and gratuitous violence so they won't become hardened. Women are supposed to be more gentle, 'innocent', and softer gender.

Much as I appreciate the sentiment, I would prefer my man protect me from something Real, rather than asserting himself "protecting" me from something inanimate.
I would admire a man who got involved in a male mentoring program, or coached little league, or ran a boy scout troop or something.
I would feel much more "protected" knowing he is actively molding a good upcoming generation of males, as opposed to if he just went, "Hey, don't watch that."

I think you underestimate the strength of women. I watch horror and action movies, and I still manage to be gentle with my love. And no one said women were supposed to be more "innocent". After all, was it not Eve that took the apple and committed the first disobedience to god?

Maybe ladies need protecting from these kinds of movies...but, women are quite capable of deciding whether to view for themselves.
