There was a time when some people came down with Legionaries Disease which was spread thru AC's but I believe that problem was solved and I don't believe there are any new ones on the horizon.---- Do clean your filter every few weeks though.

There are many detectors such as leak detectors. It depends on what you think is bad. You can check out the free information at www.hvac-for-beginners.com

A canary darling. Well that's what they used to use in the old days to check the quality of air in underground mines. But it worked. Hope that helps

BIT UNCLEAR WHAT YOU MEAN. SEALED SYSTEM SO THERES NOTHING TO DETECT UNLESS THE REFRIGERANT IS LEAKING WHICH WILL RESULT IN THE AC NOT REACHING CORRECT TEMPERATURES. MAKE SURE AIR FILTERS ARE CLEANED AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR HOPE THIS HELPS. REFRIGERATION ENGINEER
