i want to get a subscription to a pregnancy magazine, but i can't find any in stores around here (??) to look at... so i'm not sure which one is good? i want some good info about childbirth also, and i'm all for exercise & would prefer natural (nonmedicated) birth, so i don't want the magazine to ignore that option (i want to know all about epidurals, also, just in case!).
also, do they only do 6 month subscriptions? or at least have stuff about childbirth & babies too?

one time a while back (a few years ago) i found a really great british one, but i can't remember the name :(
(it was kinda odd for me at first, being american, different lingo & measurements, but i loved the info!! & the tone of the magazine was fun)

I LOVE Mothering magazine. It is mostly natural, they have a lot of good info, and unlike the mainstream ones, do not have a pharmaceutical ad every other page.
Cookie was stupid..there were articles that focused on "looking SEXY your whole pregnancy" (like that is your top focus!!) and "bling for your baby" and dumb **** like that.
Good Luck with your cub! lol

The stomach pains don't sound like pregnancy symptoms, you shouldn't be in that much pain at the beginning of pregnancy. Maybe you are stressing out so much that you are making yourself sick. The missed period is another story. You should go to a doctor and have them do a blood test. That is the only way to know for sure. EDIT: Pregnancy tests are not as reliable as they claim to be. They only have to be tested in a lab, against the an older product. So when it says 'over 99% accurate' it means it worked better than the older one 99% of the time. Most tests will not give you an accurate reading until you are at least a week late.

I do not know which magazine is good but I do know of a great book. It is called "What to Expect When You are Expecting". It takes you through each month in great detail explaining what is happening to you, what you may be feeling, what is happening to the baby, and in great detail what on the baby is developing. The pictures are phenominal and after you have the baby they have another book "What to Expect The First Year" that is also excellent. I highly recommend them. They are very accurate and will answer a lot of your questions as they come along. These books along with your OB/GYN will guarantee that you never have any unanswered questions during this most important time of your life. Good luck and God bless.

american baby and baby talk, go to americanbaby.com and parents.com and sign up for free to get a subscription, parents magazine is a good one too but it is more for later once your baby is born and it isn't free either. Another good magazine is epregnancy, they have a website also and fit pregnancy if you are interested in staying fit and healthy throughout your pregnancy

My OB's officed had Violet. Although I just looked at it now and its family. I also liked Cookie at first for a family mag, but now everything in there that they rate/show is so overpriced.
Was that British one more rectangular, think my OB had that one too. But cant think of the name either. But the articles were more scientific I found then the more commercial baby mags, which I liked, and went deeper for instance on why to try to avoid c-sections, than the popular ones.

Also consider American Baby, Parenting, Pregnancy and Fit Pregnancy magazines.
I do think that at verybestbaby.com you will find better help.
