a question is a sentence that expresses a query that to soem extent has an answer. even if a question cannot be answered, it still has an answer, just not one that is known.

your query indeed expresses a query and can have a correct answer. it is indeed a question based on the rules of English, but it is also a paradox. if it is not a question, then it does not have an answer. this question can be answered. if it is not a question, then the answer would be that this is not a question. since it has a true answer, it becomes a question. but as soon as it becomes a question, it makes the answer false, making the question not a question again. this is also a paradox in the sense that it is a paradox and a justifiable truth at the same time.

i have meditated on the item in point and can say with complete clarity that i am confused, what point are you trying to make and what conclusion are you trying to reach,if you are asking if your full sentence is in itself a question then yes anything requiring an answer can be counted as a question, however if you are enquiring as to whether the word this used by itself could be a question then the answer is ambiguose and depends on the context in which it is asked!

Yes. The fact that you are asking whether or not something is a question is a question in itself. However, if you are asking the word "this" is a question, then the answer to your question is no.

Nice one.

Yes, but a very silly one.

Unless you're a Zen Buddhist, then it's a very deep question indeed.
