I am hosting a baby shower and want to make or buy a cake. I googled baby shower cakes but didn't see much. Does anyone know a good website for looking at cakes?

You have gotten some great input here. I will just give you one more idea: the last three baby showers I have either hosted or attended had petit fours rather than a traditional cake.

They are so easy to serve - no cutting, no mess, and you can have them decorated to match your theme - or with baby booties or ducks, etc.

Oh yeah - one other thing that has been a big hit is an "edible arrangement" made out of cut fruit and chocolate-covered strawberries. It can also double as your centerpiece.

Have fun.

my cousin had a baby shower and instead of having a decorated cake for everyone to eat, the person hosting her party just had a couple of regular "sheet cakes" and then made a "tiered cake" out of diapers and ribbon and baby booties and stuff like that...that way the mom to be can keep that stuff and all. it was a cute idea...i wish i had a picture of it to show you....basically you just use diapers as the base and have fun with it...they used ribbons to hold it together and then baby hair ties and stuff for decorations and stuff like that since she was having a girl but you could always do different stuff if its going to be a boy. good luck!

I had a professional baker make my cake and it was awesome.. It was cakes that were stacked and looked like blocks it spelled "baby"... It was super cute and not that expensive.. I think for 80 servings it cost $60.... I froze the leftover in an airtight container and it stayed good for about a yr. we tried some and it was good....

Oh good heavens who cares if you throw your own shower. I'm helping throw my shower. In fact I've done most of the work. I'm on light bed rest so I need something to do. On my showers cake for my son my mom wrote congrats Melissa.

I went to a shower last night and the chocolate cake was a total hit. It had shaved chocolate all over and was very decadent!

It was from Costco.

Kroger.com used to have a really good area on their website for viewing cakes.
