Have you or do you know of anyone who used a hot tub during pregnancy and the baby turned out fine? If so, how far along were you and how long did you stay in the hot tub?
Or vice versa, have you used a hot tub during pregnancy and you had a miscarriage or your baby was born with birth defects?

I'm not looking for advice; I've read the research out there. I only want mothers who've been in this situation to respond, please. I'd just like to know...thank you! :)

Yes, I did. I didnt let the water go above 100. I would only stay in for about 15 minutes. I love the hot tub, why not enjoy yourself. My son is 4 yrs old next month and healthy.

If you already went in the hot tub and you feel fine and had no cramping or bleeding, etc., then I'm sure everything is fine. Just don't get into a hot tub for the rest of your pregnancy.
Hot tubs can raise your body temperature and cause you to miscarry. I'm not sure about any birth defects -- I think miscarriage is the main concern why pregnant women need to stay away from hot water.

I have a hot tub and want to get in all the time, but I don't. Fortunately, I was unable to get in it for at least 3 weeks before I got preg. Now we can't get it to stay below 98 and that is just too risky for me. They tell you to keep the temp below 100. I think most preg women are told to stay out of the hot tub and don't take a hot bath either.

Hot Tubs are way far off limits for a pregnant woman...overheating yourself is not good for you or your baby...the chances of finding someone that has put their baby at risk like that is going to be pretty low.

When I was pregnant, all I wanted to do was go into the hot tub. My mother wouldn't let me, however. She was a nurse and didn't want my core body temp to get too high, as that could cause stress on the baby. I found sites and articles that said it was OK, as long as the temp was below 104f, but she wouln't let me go in the entire time I was pregnant.
If the temp isn't too high, and don't stay in too long, there is no medical reason you cannot go in.

Just because someone else did it and their baby turned out fine DOES NOT mean that your baby will turn out fine if you do it! It's a risk - no one ever said that every time it's done, the baby will be affected. But you can't know whether or not you will be one of the lucky ones.

There are explicit warnings on hottubs about this, which I think are best followed. Why take a risk?
