I agree with alot of what you say, and think that players we might never suspect did steroids. On the juice, Bonds (together with Babe Ruth and a few others) was the best hitter in baseball history. Off the juice, he's still a hall-of-fame caliber player. So yes, I would put him in the hall of fame, and try and stop steroid use in the future. Because if they keep looking very hard, surely some very popular players are going to be revealed as users.

Well he was always a good play even before he took or did not take steroids. Well as for Cal Ripkin Jr using roids i am not sure but it does bring up a valid point who knows how many playes cheat. Bond does have the record as of now but i belive that A-rod will break it.

heres what i think
he was clean untill the end of the 1998 season
he saw mcgwire and sosa and found out what they were using
he then showed up to spring training in 1999 noticably bigger and with a new trainer (the one who was involved in balco)
now i dont think he took STEROIDS but HGH (human growth hormone)
this is because from 1999-2003 his shoe size grew from 10.5 to 13, his jersey size went up 10 sizes, an dhis hat size went up 1/4 inch but he started shaving his head
there is no test for HGH so he could still be on it
he was a no doubt about it hall of famer and proably would have had 600 HR
i think hes getting treated a little unfairly just because hes a bastard and broke the HR record, even though many others did the same thing

No doubt Barry Bonds is one of the greatest players of all time. He belongs in the Hall of Fame, as does Pete Rose in my opinion. The Hall of Fame is pretty much a glorified museum which takes itself a little too seriously sometimes. Without the boost I doubt Bonds would have broken Aaron's record though.

Well, I don't think he should be a hall of famer. That's because of all the steroid use, but if they (base ball commity) took away all the records he got from using steroids. That's including any and all home runs. He is a good player so I agree with you that he could get those records again without steroids.

His whole career from HS at Serra in San Mateo, CA to Arizona State and the SF Giants has been like a roller coaster ride with more ups than downs, but all of his achievements were due to just plain skill. If any synthetic chemical assistance was involved, it sure did not enhance his performance one bit.
After meeting him at my place of employment (EA Sports) quite a few times and also in my neighborhood, he's proven to be a perfect gentleman with no hangups or any attitude problems. He shook people's hands, signed countless autographs, posed for many pictures and even chatted with the masses with no sign of impatiences.
The arrogance shows when falsely accused of "shooting" drugs with syringes or when the media approached him with questions about his personal marital issues. That is a normal reaction from people when confronted with lies and when celebrities are portrayed in a negative light.
All in all, I have no problem with Barry being defensive about things. That's normal when people usually lie about you and spread rumors. His stellar career is maybe ending soon, but he's definitely worthy of all awards and records earned.

A large part of Barry's career is under a cloud of suspicion. The courts and MLB both have ongoing investigations into his off-field activities. When they conclude and make their findings known we'll be better informed to evaluate his deeds.

The early part of his career... yes. This current part... I wouldn't make my worst enemy watch it. Look at a photo of Bonds as a rookie and one today. If it was hard work that made that body without steroids, then I have no problem (I didn't say I would be a fan of his. I do have respect for talent, I don't have respect for cheaters if that is the case); if he's doped up, then I have a major problem.

He is one of the best ball player's ever. But he should not be in the hall of fame for the same reason that Pete Rose is not in the hall of fame. He cheated.
