It doesn't cost more, it's their CHOICE to pay more for their education and food, cars, toys, luxuries as a REWARD for years of hard work (for most of us, excluding those born or married into the free ride.)
Some wealthy people work 7 days and nights a week leading to the top 5% income earners paying 90% of all income taxes collected.
Wealthiest people are often the most monetarily generious, for 1 simple reason: They have more money left over to give to others (bill gates gives more away each year than millions of combined people.)
If you had more money, wouldn't you buy the larger TV instead of the small one you can hardly see? Of course you would, and thats exactly what wealthy people do.
The poor in the western world have it a million-fold better than other countries. If you're poor, you get an apartment, food, TV, microwave, cheap public transportation, wealth of knowledge via internet, and more amenities, choices, and products than an eqyptian pharoh living 3000 years ago.
The poor in third world countries are cheaper to feed and educate because the value of their currency (based on their low productivity) is worth often 10-30 times less than our own, so $2.00 would pay an employee teaching the poor for a half a day in Indonesia, vs the $80.00 it would take here in Canada.
Yes, I'm wealthy, self made, and feel proud of my accomplisments, and zippo guilt over it.

In the case of food, the wealthiest spend a smaller percentage of their income on food, though they pay a higher price for what they perceive as a higher quality. Education, of course, is an investment and the wealthy pay a higher price for the highest quality of investment they can get. This is of course true for the entire planet. As your income increases, your percentage spending on food falls, the price rises but not as fast as wages and education becomes increasingly important.

It really doesn't ...they just choose to fork out more money cus they're rich
In essence education costs more money for poor people ...most people never get out their financial aid debt ...any interest rate is a huge factor that rich people never really quite understand.
for the rich get richer and the poor get poorer...
