Another 3 British soldiers killed by our American allies.
Are they doing it on purpose, or do they just shoot at anything that moves ?
How can we continue to accept that the USA cannot train their forces to only attack the enemy.

I'm not actually saying they meant it.
It is just happening far too often for my liking.

your right this is getting out of hand.
how can they get it wrong when the majority of the enemy dont wear uniform.
we cannot continue to accept this and the 'so called' commanding officers of the USA need to explain more carefully and slowly for these yanks to understand that us brits have not made a war with them but are helping them in fighting these battles.and wot thnx do we get?they shoot us.
If they continue this 'friendly fire' they need to be pulled out and let our men do what we do best.saving theyr arses.

The Soldiers called in Air Support but how long did they have to wait for it to arrive.
The enemy must have nearly been on top of them also the Taliban would have been waiting for them so was it a case of get in get out without double checking the drop zone.
Yet again was there time,we will have the usual rubbish from the MOD/US so we will never find out the real cause.
It took years to get information from the US about the "Friendly Fire" in Iraq and the families still do not have justice.
A pity the RAF has been run down over the last 10 years
(see the Red Arrows on TV) the RAF are the Best trained in the World.
At end of the day our Government have short changed our Armed Forces and sent them to fight Wars without the Tools or enough Men for the Job.

They don't do it on purpose (although who would know - and look at that footage of the black soldier "This one's still alive - BANG - not any more!") but certainly the Americans are well known for this. Some here have said that such things happen in war but one case during the first Gulf War had a U.S. jet blow up an allied truck in a convoy and *then* they contacted the reconnaissance plane flying above them to ask what it was they'd destroyed. What was the worse thing about this? The truck had a giant Union Jack painted on the top of it! Now I ask you, what sort of 'highly trained' soldiers can utterly fail to follow proper procedure (in which they FIRST contact reconnaissance) in this way?
In another one I heard of, a U.S. helicopter went to rescue some people in an enemy compound. What happened? They crashed the helicopter onto those they were supposed to rescue - everyone was killed, soldiers and victims.
The film Black Hawk Down was nothing but an indictment of U.S. military incompetence; a soldier falls out of the helicopter, for goodness sake! Who do you know who would travel in a helicopter with open sides, preparing to abseil down i.e. NOT fighting, and not hold on tightly?
The States joined WW2 after the majority of the work (and dying) had been done (my grandad was in the front line and this was his view (not to mention historians)); Britain has only just finished repaying our WW2 debts to the States for this! Can you believe that? That they 'helped' us - but only for a price.
They couldn't beat a tiny backward nation like Vietnam (who they had no reason to be fighting anyway). They got caught with their pants down in Pearl Harbour and then overeacted with the A-bombs (the second of which missed the target by a wide margin - but hey - it was a nuclear bomb so it worked anyway!); and don't forget A-bomb tests they carried out - on their own soldiers (among others)!
They also have something of a history for starting wars they can't finish. All bragging, and 'shock and awe' to start with, but when things turn messy, it's a nation whinging about the casualties, and turning tail.
Their soldiers' poor discipline has also been demonstrated in the prison camps.
American military history is big, brash, and generally embarrassing. They like to think of themselves as the best but they rely on the British S.A.S. for the training of all their elite forces e.g. their Navy SEALs.
What can we do though? We're allied to them and today they have far more military *muscle* than anyone else, not to mention a larger number of grunts for those body-bags. I too have heard that our soldiers are terrified of the Yanks' dodgy aim and itchy trigger fingers - that's WHY we paint Union Jacks on the tops of the trucks!

Your soo right! I was about to post the same kinda thing but you beat me to it!! Urrrgh!
once or twice, yeah. But like you said, its goin on too often. And british soldiers probably already know this. It wont be long until the brits and americans start fightin each other, the brits wont take that lightly..and probably result in brits not helping american troops to the fullest and wont be assed about helpin. After all...what goes around comes around

The Americans on here forget this is neither the first time nor the 2nd. 3rd 4th or 5th time either. Its now not friendly fire, it's a habit. Funny that we are in the same war however we have not killed any of them yet in friendly fire! I wonder why?

It's always been the same with American forces.
My father said that during World War 2 there was a saying.
'When the Germans fly over the British duck. When the British fly over the Germans duck. When the Yanks fly over everybody ducks.'
Sadly it's been proved correct again.

Ya us yanks are really bad soldiers. Is that why your soldiers death rate is higher than the ours (see article below). It is war and a country like yourselfs should know better than anyone that bad things happen in war. Instead of ripping down the US maybe you should pray for those poor boys who lost their lives serving your country. Both sides have seen unspeakable losses and the whole situation is tragic. But it is not the time to point fingers, the only finger pointing should be at Bush and Blair, the blood is on their hands.

They were killed by a bomb dropped from a jet. I really doubt they are doing it on purpose or that they are badly trained. Don't judge the US soldiers til you have all the facts. There could be reasons why it happened. Were the British known to be in the area being bombed? Just one of many questions that need to be asked before you start blaming only the US troops.

There would appear to be a shocking lack of the right sort of training. Surely they are told how to recognise the enemy.
