My aunt, who now lives in Vermont, raises all her vegetables along with four goats. She attended the rock festival and said it changed her for life. She is the most interesting person I know not to mention one of the most intelligent. She is still a hippie with her long hair, long dresses, and beads. Does anyone have parents that attended Woodstock ( or some one you know) who have some great stories???

I was there with my three best friends. We were living in Buffalo so we didn't have to go to far to get there. The crowd was so large we had to park about ten miles away. We didn't have a tent so we got rained on a lot but we had a great time. My claim to fame was the next issue of Life magazine, which was a famous magazine in those days had a double page picture of people sitting in the crowd and we were right in the middle of that picture. We were freaks too, but almost everyone young was in those days.

Not to doubt your aunt, but there are about 10 times as many people who claimed to have been at Woodstock then were actually there. I heard it was very wet, muddy and uncomfortable, but few left, even those who had purchased a ticket for the first day only (it was a 3 day event). It's still, by far, the most famous outdoor concert ever held.

My parents were too conservative for that sort of thing, so they did not go or even consider going. My Dad was country when country wasn't cool. I was only about 2 at the time, so there is no way I was going to remember any of it.
