I want to start selling some things on ebay but i do not want to use paypal. What are some other easy ways to get my payments for the things i sell? I want a simple easy method because i have limited time to fiddle with ebay. I am just now learning, actually.

Could this way work: The person buying my stuff sends me a check, i go cash it to make sure its legit, then i go ship them thier stuff via post office? How do i know if thier check is legit or not?? Confused....

you wait for the check to clear about 7 - 10 business days and ship AFTER The check clears. for overseas customers make sure they send you a postal money order in US dollars, (or what ever currency you use) or set up a paypal account. Don't forget to pack the item very well, double boxing is recommended. make sure that you get delivery confirmation

I wouldn't recommend personal checks. Start with accepting money orders and cashier's checks instead. Both of those do not require any time to clear, the funds are there soon as you take it to the bank.

Western Union also offers wire transfers if you decide to not use paypal

You don't, I am confused about your reasons for No PayPal.
It is the fastest and easiest. It quarantees the money is good no hassles.
It allows your customers to Pay via Credit Card or direct withdrawl and you don't have to wory about dealing with there bank or there credit card.
It is a small pain for you to set it up at first, 2 to 3 days for you to become verified but it's the best move I ever made. There charge is a pitance in comparison to credit card charges.

Yup that would work...
You can just put on your item page that you DO NOT use PayPal... and that you accept CHECK or MONEY ORDER ONLY!
And once your item sells you have to send an invoice to the buyer and tell him to either send a check or money order to your address... and once you recieve payment you will ship the item!
:)
