NOT worth it. Overclocking (cpu or gpu) is attractive for the lower clocked variants. There's plenty of headroom. But when you are talking of the top variants like an 8800 Ultra, there's little headroom. And to squeeze out that small remaining performance you may have to consider costly/specialized coolers, risky volt-modding, etc.

Consider the SLI option.

If you aren't tech savvy enough to do it yourself, it's not worth the risk. Overclocking is a dangerous procedure in the best of hands. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for someone who isn't 110% sure of what they're doing.
