Do you feel guilty? Do you feel that you are doing something wrong? Are you so unhappy that you have the need to go online and not only talk with people of the opposite sex for excitement or to make youself feel good. Is your marriage okay? I would ask myself this because I am married and I really don't feel the need to go online and have conversations with other men. Of course, I am totally in love with my husband and my children. But, if you dont' feel it is wrong and your spouse don't, then there is your answer.

If feelings of lust or love come into play, then yes. Giving that type of attention to anyone else is being disrespectful to your spouse. If you're in a situation that you think might develop into something romantic, you should probably cut off the relationship now before things get worse.
The more love and attention you pour into your significant other, the more you'll get back in return.

I would have to say it is a form of cheating but not physical cheating!! yes it can lead to more but that's if one or the other can't handle themselves. If it's in secret then that's a whole other story. If you two do it to get a rise out of yourselves or if ya'll are into that sort of thing then fine, more power to both of you. But if one of ya'll do it to offend the other then it's not a healthy relationship. this all also depends on how open the both of you are about certain subjects. It all depends on the situation and actions!

Yes, there is such a thing as mental infidelity and alienation of affection. Isn't there something about coveting thy neighbors wife or something. I'm not too religious. I would leave my husband if he had a relationship like that with someone on line. I want to be the person he comes to and his best friend. I will share that place with NO ONE! and you should only share that with your wife. That is how you stay married for 60 years. I know it is the boring answer and probably not the one you want to hear. K

YES!
Cheating is not only physcal its mental and that can be way worse.
Think about it do you spend more time having sex with the other person or finding out who they are through talking. I bet sex is usally only 10% of any relationship that lasted past a 1 night stand. It is the high point but you spend the 90% finding out who you wrap your arms around.

As long as you don't get emotionally and physically attached to that person, and as long as there is no real contact between the two of you then no it is not cheating. However if it puts one bit of your relationship with your spouse on the side be it sexual, emotional, or simply converstaion then you need to stop it right away.

The real question is why wouldn't it be?
Chatting online in and of itself is not cheating.
Flirting with anyone other than your spouse is definitely cheating.
You do not flirt unless you are looking for more.
Take care,
Troy

It could potentially be a stepping stone to actual cheating. Finding something in someone else that your spouse isnt fullfilling can lead to that and its really easy to do that online because you think its not wrong and you think its not going to lead to anything. flirting with someone else in any manner is disrespectful to your spouse.
