What kind of pet can I get if I'm allergic to fur?

You can still get a dog.
I have a Maltese and my dad has the same problem.
But, Maltese have hair not fur so it doesn't bother him at all.
He's totally fine.
Or you could get a smaller pet like fish. parakeets don't bother my dad either.

if you'd like to get a dog, hairless Chinese Cresteds are hypoallergenic. hypoallergenic and furless cats are also available (though very hard to find and buy because they are not yet mainstream and very expensive). there are also furless rats that are commonly kept as pets. having a large aquarium is also an option! you can do more research... i'm sure there are plenty of options! hope i helped! =]

-naked mole rat

-a bird ( they have feathers not fur )

-a snake

-a spider

-a salamander

- and a vertual pet lol

fish, birds, sometimes poodles, bischons, or chinese cresteds (which are generally well tolerated by people with fur allergies, because they have hair, not fur)

Get a Bichon Frise! Not only are they gorgeous, delightful dogs, but they are very hypo-allergenic. My self, my Daughter, and my Grandson all have Asthma , and we have no problems with our Bichons! Good luck to you..

well you can get aquatics and hairless pets or birds too unless your alergic to feathers...... avoid hamsters, gerbils, ginuea pigs, dogs, cats, and all fur animals.
