Does she have regular bamboo or Lucky bamboo.

Try this for Lucky Bamboo:

Dracaena (Lucky Bamboo) or even regular bamboo does not require much in the way of fertilizer.
You can also use a few drops of Green Green, Fish Emulsion, or Sea Weed fertilizer.

Good Luck

If it's a house plant then a good quality, well ballanced house plant food. Remember to keep the air humid around the plant by misting. If it's planted in the garden then a small amount of growmore or fish blood and bone hoed in, in the spring will be good enough. For pot plants out of doors then Chempak No8 and feed fortnightly during the growing season. Please remember that some bamboo's are very invasive plants so check first before you plant them in your garden.

I bought some bamboo about 3 years ago, it's still alive and looking good. All I do is give it lots of water. :-)
