There IS no other way to say no. Saying anything other than "no" leaves room for doubt or question. If you mean no (in whatever situation) then you must say it and be firm about it. By saying things like "nah, nope, I don't think so, uh-uh" it makes the other person doubt your seriousness and leaves them with a sliver of hope that you'll eventually change your mind.
No means no.
