What leads you to believe this? Give some examples of you being an "alpha female". What do you do when you meet a woman who is even more dominant than you?

I believe an Alpha female is one people follow? So it's a title some use to determine their superiority?

Umm...let's see...I'm very outspoken, aggressive, passionate, outgoing, I have a good career, just bought my own house in Los Angeles (which is pricey), I don't like putting myself under an "ism" or limit myself under groups and titles---- I'm sure I inspire/motivate those around me, but I guess I don't care to compare myself to others to determine my superiority/inferioty...I'm just happy if I can help or inspire someone to improve and find those who can do the same for me :)

Oh yeah my friends call my lioness because I like to protect and defend those who need it- but it's not based on superiority.

There is a certain gentleness, or innocence in character that men find very attractive, and "dominant" females despise it when they see it in other women.

I don't know about what an "alpha" really is, but I'm assuming an "alpha" female accentuates what it means to be female. From that perspective, a focus on trying to be "dominant" over other people is not a natural female characteristic, and therefore not "alpha." I think the "alpha" females would be more of the understanding and forgiving type, not the dominant type. And I don't believe you are just born as an "alpha" - people like to say that they are born with something special just in order to boost their ego.

Youre right, were not a pack of dogs or hyenas, draecoiram, however, I still call some of my co-workers alpha bitches, alpha anything in my opinion just translates to dominant or assertive.

And to answer the question, yes, I do consider myself an 'alpha' female, very controlling, if I look up a study and someone goes against my opinion based on the study I get the last word, if someone decides to act like a smarta.ss I treat them as such and prove them otherwise, if they invade my living quarters without my consent or approval they get a mouthful. If I meet someone who is more 'dominant' per say than I, then I tend to push their buttons and boundaries. I also can be very open minded, I will consider other opinions on a matter and if someone puts up a plausible debate I may take that into consideration. I have been told by several though that its near impossible to change my mind about anything, its set in stone when I say it sort of thing. But, thats what happens when I get to researching in my spare time.

I definitely consider myself to be an alpha female. My entire family is matriarchal -- very strong women -- and I have grown up feeling that I have a responsibility to be strong both mentally and physically. That does not mean, however, that I am not feminine. Women can be strong AND feminine if they choose to be so. I have rarely met women who are stronger, but I generally take this approach -- if the woman is older than I and has more life experience, I consider that being in her presence teaches me to be a stronger woman in my own right. If it is the false bravado of someone who is young and inexperienced, I reestablish myself as alpha female and move on. Strong women must learn from older, stronger women, but a person must pay her dues before she truly qualifies as an alpha female.

I am an alpha female. I can respect other intelligent, successful dominant women (as long as they don't invade my territory). :) Scientists have already proven that some individuals are made to be leaders, even in the human species. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence can surmise that some people just naturally lead the group. And we ARE animals. Check your science.

Well I guess these women aren't animals. They must not be human. Maybe they are some kind of prokaryote?

I am an Alpha Female because I like being in charge. I've been President of the local American Businesswomen's Association, the head of my running club, etc.

I like other dominant women if I agree with them. If I think they're full of it, then I have problems with them.

"alpha" anything is pretty ridiculous, imo.
it's not like humans are a pack of dogs or hyenas.
