Winning what? Where is the scoreboard that you're going off of to determine how we're winning? There's no front line to go off of, there's no clear cut enemies and no tallies on their deaths, and the death toll on our own men is continually rising while almost no progress is being made. You're just guessing on whether we are winning or not based on the news and your interpretation of it. Perhaps the bumper sticker should read this:
"The situation in Iraq is a complex dispute between two groups of people that the vast majority of Americans don't understand. Such a quagmire cannot simply be solved with military force, considering we haven't exactly picked a side to support, Sunni or Shia. Rather, these circumstances require a more balanced approach, using political and diplomatic involvement , along with an effort at building up some sort of infastructure. Of course, Bush short-changed us by not providing enough forces to properly secure Baghdad and make the more civil aspects of our operation possible, creating the problem we have now."
I don't think that would fit on a bumper sticker. Maybe instead of simplifying the position of your opposition on a complex situation into a false five letter quote, we should actually look to solve the problem.

Interesting. I'm not seeing any links or sources for this "truth". Last I heard the National Intelligence Estimate report said that the security situation in Iraq had improved somewhat as a result of the "surge" and al-Qaeda related bombings had been reduced. The same report also said that the political picture in Iraq remains bleak and is, if anything, more polarized than ever. Of course, since the U.S. mission in Iraq was and is ever changing and vague I'm not sure what the U.S. stands to win. A new toaster? Or just more freedom for the U.S. government to undermine our civil liberties and the Constitution, more of a chance for the Dominionists to set up a fascist "Christian" theocracy, more enemies world-wide and more money for Haliburton, Exxon Mobil and the military-industrial complex in general.

I agree with you that we are starting to win this war. However I am a Christian and do not support it.
The news in this country is horrible...they don't report the facts. There are a lot of good things happening over in Iraq. Schools are being build. Businesses are going up. The media in this country does a crappy job of reporting on this war.
Edit: I say we are winning this war, but I don't think it can be won. The tides are turning but not for long. We will keep killing them but they will continue to rally more supporters.

Liberals are not the only ones who want the US to leave Iraq.
If you think the US is winning, and you're not watching Fox, you're not watching ANY news or reading ANY newspapers!

So John Warner, Republican hawk, went to Iraq and said "We're winning, let's withdraw some troops?" I think he was a tad disappointed by the Iraqi attitude. The Iraqis have to want it. Of course.their government on summer vacation while US soldiers fight their war. Maybe that's what pissed him off.

I have not seen the new bumper sticker, but agree with you--We are NOT winning today, tomorrow nor in a hundred years, so what's the point of losing precious American lives. Even if invasion was wrong, we tried.

I would not want to tell some grieving widow that we are winning, and soon Haliburton will have enough money to withstand 8 years of Democratic rule. It is real easy to support something when you have nothing at stake.

That might be okay if we were winning. By the way when are you guys going to define winning? I have yet to see a difinative answer to that question. We were told that the mission was accomplished and that Al Qaeda was in its last throes yet Al Qaeda is stronger than ever and gaining strength and we are still bogged down in a quagmire where brave young American men and women are losing their lives in another country's civil war.
Perhaps Senator Warner could answer your question. Why don't you ask him?

Limbaugh republicans seem to have a hard time understanding that we won the war in a matter of weeks, and, that no plan to re-install a government was invoked, which, in time, created an atmosphere of chaos and violence. By the way, there was also no strategically sound reason to even enter in the first place!
