If you are using IE you need to go to... Tools, Internet Options, go to the security tab, click on internet, click on custom levels, scroll down to Navigate Sub Frames Across Different Domains and click on enable. You should now be able to open attachments. Also go to my computer, click on file, go to tools, folder options, click on file types, look for the type of file that you are trying to open (example jpeg) click on that file extension, click on change and you can change the program that this type of file opens. I hope this isn't too confusing.

I gather that you are using WebMail? If that is the case, the problem lies in your "Firewall". You have the settings too high and are blocking "Scripts" and "Pop-Ups". You need to go into your "Firewall" and allow both "Scripts" (java, css etc.) and "Pop-Ups. Also make sure that the Pop-Up Blocker (in "Tools") is disabled. When you click on the attachments, they should open now. However, it is advisable to restore your settings to the "Firewall" and block "Scripts" and Pop-Ups as soon as possible, after viewing and / or downloading the attachments. If you are using an E-Mail Browser (Outlook Express, Eudora, Outlook etc.), your problem is in the Browser's Settings. Open the Settings and make sure that it allows attachments to open but not automatically.

Check your antivirus its the main reason for not being able to open attachments. But make sure you know the person sending the attachment or you could get a virus or worse.
