actually..i dont understand what is proverbs...can anyone tell me?and giv me 5 examples with their meaning...ur help will definitely make me better in english...=)

A proverb is a saying used to teach a lesson. Here are a couple examples:

A penny saved is a penny earned. - meaning is that saving money is just as important as making money.

Don't cry over spilled milk. - meaning once it is spilled you can't change it.

A stitch in time saves nine. - meaning it is easier to do the job now because it will be more work later.
