To be honest, I don't give a damn about the people in Afghanistan. They brought it upon themselves, in one way or another.
THEY ARE FIGHTING US, lest we forget!

I want everyone to see this. Look at some of the Liberal answers:
"What a moronic question."
"You're an idiot."
Now isn't that just like a Liberal? Can't defend themselves with facts so they insult you. Typical. It's okay, I will disregard those answers due to mental incapacity.

Good Point! I for one do not want to see my children going through air raid drills, hiding under their desks at school, and learning other tactics to protect themselves. Sorry if some people on here think it would be the FAIR thing to do. They can go to hell. I'm for looking out for MY country and MY people.

It is amazing some of the answers you received. They do not want to fight them there or here, and we attacked with no reason.
Apparently they forget (and they hope we do also) UN resolution 1441 and the 16 others that Saddam ignored. And the fact that clinton could have done something, anything, but chose to do nothing. (safe for democrats unless they get caught)
First off we were attacked, so (and with UN and Congress with Intel from clinton) we removed a man that was killing and oppressing the Iraqi's there ( and I thought the democrats cared about people being oppressed. I guess only if they do it first)
It has been shown that Saddam did in fact have ties to terrorists.
I know I for one would rather fight them there then here. But if a democrat gets into the White House then you can bet your bottom dollar we will have many attacks on our soil.
These people we are fighting know only one thing, and that is the west (that is America) and Israel must no longer exist.
In addition if we do not follow Alla or Mohamed then we must die.
And for what ever the reason is that democrats don't get this is beyond me.
clinton prosecuted them, that is well and good but they already attacked. and the damage was done, so what was the point??
I also enclosed links for this information.
And as a side note I served when carter thought he was President, but was only a famer

I completely agree with JimF. The fact of the matter is, there are good people in Iraq. The innocent civilians who were ruled under a tyrannical regime of Saddam are now participating in a democracy. The extremist muslims hate this and are trying to terrorize them and us into submission. Leaving Iraq would just hand the nation once more into terrorist hands and would completely demolish everything our troops have worked and died for in the past few years. I, for one, do not elect to pull out with our tail between our legs just because people over there hate us. People/countries have always hated us; hatred stems from jealousy. We're the most powerful nation in the world and they will always be jealous of that. But, that doesn't mean that we have to give into terrorism.

What in the world makes you think that they can't come "over here" tomorrow? Remember all of this talk about Iranians entering Iraq?
Do you think that the Iraq border is secure? Obviously not.
Is our border secure? Obviously not.
This notion that the insurgents are somehow pinned down in Iraq is utter nonsense.
Imagine if we spent some fraction of the staggering sums that Bush has borrowed from China to fight the Iraq War on actual border security in our OWN nation. What a concept.

This is the statement that I've heard on the media in recent years. NO, the choices are not only limited to those two.
Here's whats happening.
U.S did not have an enemy that came from nowhere.
We probe our nose into small conflicts all over the world before this happened and created hatred toward us along the way.
9/11 happened because we let them slip through the racks of our doors.
Homeland security should not mean flying accross the world and bomb the crap out of other countries. We should really need to focus on watching who gets in or out of our own doors.

Afghanistan I understand but Iraq I don't because it was a war base on a lie. and we gain nothing from the war in Iraq all we are doing is getting thousands of soldiers kill and lost billions of dollars over seas because we win the war but cant take the spoils whats the point in a war if you gain nothing also the (main reason weapons if mass destruction) was never found so it means we started this war base on a lie or miss information then we went and kill their leader.
if you going to start a war make sure you get the spoils of war from it not win and leave another *** of a dictator will just come and take over.

Sheesh. Get over this idiotic notion. Bush had support to fight in Afghanistan - that's where OBL was but he went off on this wild goose chase, "Nation building" in Iraq and blew it all away. The guys who attacked us here at homewere in Afghanistan NOT in Iraq. This was a totally thoughtless war. And now, pal, we are stuck there.

Opposed to war in Iraq not Afghanistan where Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are headquartered.
If we have a homeland security department that is doing its job we would not be fighting them over here. They wouldn't even get in here.
The only reason there are terrorists in Iraq is because we are there. Saddam wouldn't tolerate them. That war has given them a chance to recruit more members and emboldened the terrorists. Had we gone after the real perpetrators of 9/11 and left Iraq alone, while we might still not have Bin Laden his organization would be severly diminished. As it now stands his organization is and has been growing. They want to kick the infidels (that's us) off their sacred land. If we leave they won't have infidels on their sacred land and therefore no more reason to attack us.

Wow.
I seem to remember hearing that during the Vietnam War a lot.I grew up on Army bases, and that was the standard drill that was trotted out all the time. But the Viet Cong(or any commies for that matter)never invaded us after we left "Nam.
BTW-very few oppose the war in Afghanistan. At least there,we're fighting the people who attacked us.

I dont agree with the fighting! I knw there is a real threat of terrorism and mass murders but deal with that side of it, fight the terrorism and the evil dictators! But dont go destroying villages full of innocent people babies and children. i know terrorist dont care who the victims are but because they do it doesnt mean we have to act in the same way! I mean you wouldnt rape a rapist or set fire to an arsenist would you? There are just too many innocent ppl dying, its awful. I just dont think there is any need to have dealt with it in the way it has been.. Hope this makes sense x
