Story of my life. Well, here are some things that have worked for me at various times: 1. Strenuous exercise at least a couple hours before bed-time. Particularly good is anything involving the arms (tennis, cutting wood, throwing things). 2. Soothing music at bed-time; quiet, rhythmic stuff is best. Try the Bach Goldberg Variations (written to put an insomniac to sleep, after all), or Bach's Art of Fugue; Erik Satie's Gymnopedies are also good ones. 3. Calming your mind by setting up some kind of repeating nonsense phrase over and over (rhyming words are good, as long as they're simple and you don't start worrying about what comes next..). 4. Planning out the details of your day tomorrow, or planning some happy thing to do on the weekend (or if you're a game-player, developing the perfect strategy..) or, 5. If all else fails, try going with melatonin - use the 1mg size to start, and it seems to take several nights before it starts taking effect (one caveat - I found it made me sleep almost too well; it was hard to wake up in the morning!). Good luck!

Do you may have this challenge the entire time? I quite often handiest sleep underneath four hours an afternoon, which is not a challenge for me. When persons sleep at night time, they quite often handiest get two-four hours of rewarding R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. The challenge is that it quite often takes 6-10 hours for such a lot persons to get the ones two-four hours of R.E.M. I cross right into a R.E.M. state practically instantly, so I haven't any disorders with feeling worn out afterwards. I truthfully HATE drowsing. It is this sort of waste of time. Think approximately it: when you sleep eight hours an afternoon, while you flip 30, you will have slept for 10 years of your lifestyles!!! That is rediculous!!!!

- listen to soft and soothing music
- drink a glass of warm milk before bed.
- relax yourself by taking slow, deep breaths.
(don't rush yourself to sleep cuz that'll make it even harder to
sleep)
