What currency are you talking about? If you are dealing with US banknotes, you need an ultraviolet light (black light). On all US banknotes starting with Series 1996, the mylar thread in the banknote glows under ultraviolet light. In addition, each denomination glows a different color and the thread is in a different position within the paper.
The counterfeit detector pens only tell you that the paper is the correct type. Modern counterfeiters take real $1 and $5 bills, bleach off the ink, and use a color copier to print fake $100 bills. A counterfeit detector pen won't detect that type of fake, which is why I no longer use them.
You can pick up an ultaviolet light cheap, around $10.

i have no idea what you are talking about or why where you live even comes into play.....if you are talking about checking for counterfeit bills you can go to any office supply store and buy a pen that when you mark the bill there will be a black streak where you marked it ....if no streak it is fake

Go to any bank. Also, you should have a Federal Reserve there.
