Do you have a happy loving marriage? Maybe you're not happy with your wife & would like out and think that getting a divorce to become a priest makes it ok. Well, it's not!! Don't think you are doing it for God. God instituted and condones marriage and the sexual relationships within it. If you really feel you have a calling in the ministry, become a pastor and follow the Bible instead.

I have a feeling those to two things may cancel each other out. You should talk to a priest, but I don't think you can be a divorced priest, as the Catholic church does not allow divorce.
You can be a married Protestant priest though.
If god has called you, then you should really speak to your local priest about it. Maybe you could work for the church without becoming a priest instead.

cebelesy was introduced in thee 3 or4 th century. it is not mandatory. ST Peter was a married man.Orthodox priests are generally married men. To be able to devote more time to their parishes(and in some instances doing all the wrong things with their flock ) R/c priests take a vow of cebelisy,(tragicly for some, they had no wives to spend a little time with.) The bible speaks of the presbeter as being the husband of one wife, (as to exclude poligimists an re married divorcees).a special gift however does exist to enable one to lead a celabate life but sadly ,some did not have this resulting in, un utterable sorrow, indescribible, both to the victims and the church

first you hit your girlfriend then you ask how to force her into using a sex toy, know you want to divorce a wife and become a priest! why don't you find a different way of occupying your time than posting stupid questions just to get a reaction, how about you get a life and leave this site for people that really need their questions answered.

Sounds like a great adventure but I have news for you my friend.
Catholics who divorce their wives are unsuitable candidates and other denominations don't require it.
Also, becoming a priest is hard work and they will try and put you off it. You may even have to work for them for a year or two before they let you formally train.

Well being that the church doesn't recognize divorce and will not accept a married priest- sounds like you're SOL, sir.

If you are catholic, you cant. They dont allow divorced men into the clergy. Talk to your priest about it.

I hope you become a priest. If you don't like her ditch her...although it is against God himself.
It might cause problems for you to become a priest please consult the Church for answers
