I was 9. I had monkey legs and the boys would tease me so bad. I hated it. I shaved them for the first time while my Mom was gone. Only my Dad was home and I gashed my leg something fierce. I suggest if she wants to do it because of embarrassment atleast make sure you show her the right way. Don't let her sneak off and do it on her own. I don't think it is so much the age as how they are feeling. Girls are going thru puberty at a younger age these days. The little girl that turned 9 acorss the street is already starting to get boobs. GEE!! Must be something in the water or hormones in the food.

If she has hairy legs, the kids will make fun of her. most girls start to shave either when they get their period, or around 11-12 or when they really have need to. It's like under arm oder. Use something when you need to. Some girls mature earlier than others. Some have more hair than others. 10 is not really to young if she really has a need to shave. Just keep it a weekly thing for a while. and show her how high to shave and where to stop. I knew one girl that got so involved in shaving that she shaved her arms as well.

I started shaving in middle school when I was starting to get embarrased about wearing gym uniforms (shirt and shorts) and having the other girls see my legs up close. Sidenote: Thats also when I had to start wearing a training bra because of the locker room) 10 is a tad bit too young in my opinion, but don't freak out and scare her into wanting to do it more, just tell her that once you start shaving, you can't stop! LOL Maybe that will make her want to wait a few more years.

I knew a few girls who started in 3rd grade. I didn't start shaving my legs until 6th grade (12 years old.)
She is probably just going to try it again. I didn't tell my mom when I started, I just did it naturally. She was surprised that I did not cut myself. You might want to start teaching how to do so properly before she hurts her self.

When they want to. Ask her why she wants to shave. Is it because pthers are making fun of her hairy legs, or is it just because everyone else is doing it? If the hair is noticeable then let her shave, just show her the proper way to do it.

If it really bothers her that much you should let her. I started around that age and it was pretty much natural and easy. However, I started with a electric shaver, and I found it to be easier and much less painful. I still use a electric shaver just because I'm so used to using it. If you want her to use a regular razer, you should show her how to use it and supervise her for awhile.
Ask her which type of shaver she wants to use, and think about which one whould be easier for her to use. I suggest to start with the electric razer, and then after awhile start to use a regular razer when she gets older.

I was in 5th grade. My mom helped me and I wasnt allowed to shave past my knee on my own. I know it was a strange rule, but I never once cut myself.

If girls are uncomfortable about there leg hair, then they should be able to shave it. i think that you should take the time and sit down with your daughter and teach her how.
hope i helped,
good luck!

It depends on how hairy her legs are. Unless her leg hair is fine & blonde, I would allow her to start.
