Sounds like you have Menorrhagia.http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/menorrhagia/DS00394
I have that.
Visit your gyno. She will probably put you on Birth Control Pills.
however there is an EXCELLENT tea out there that did help me.
It's called Organic Raspberry Leaf. It's made by Traditional Medicinals http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com/?title=women%27s+teas
It doesn't have a fruity or floral taste. It tastes very much like regular hot tea.
There are specific directions on steeping. I followed it to the letter.
I did have some results from it.
Also, make an appointment with your gyno! Don't let it go on too long.
I became weak, tired and very achey. I had to have lots of blood testing.
Take care of yourself!!

take medroxyprogestone pill once a day for ten days...
it will stop it about 2 days after u start it. after you have taken it for the whole 10 days..then about 3 days later your period will start back normal then end .
when it ends u then can go get a pap test or whatever to see the cause of the problem in the first place.
what is your yahoo email or messenger? because we can talk about this issue and I can try to help you out.

Your doctor will give you a shot of blood thinner. It will stop. I once got my period for about a month and it was because i was going on vacation and didn't want my period that week so i took my birth control continuously for 2 months, the doctor said i was bleeding a lot because my body was making up for the period i lost when i took the pills like that. it's normal, but go get it checked out.
good luck

you need to make an appointment with your Gyno. You should not have a period for that long with out consulting your doctor. In the mean time, you can take Alieve (or anything with naproxen sodium in it). It should help some. but it isn't a cure all. You really need to get an appointment with your doctor to find out what the underlying problems are, and to determine what could be causing this.
good luck!

you have to see your gyn.
"You could have benign tumors (called fibroids) that are causing the bleeding, or you could be experiencing a hormonal imbalance which prolongs your period. There are other causes also but what you need is a doctor to examine you to determine what is causing this. It is important not to let the bleeding go unchecked as you can develop"
Some causes of heavy menstrual bleeding
Unexplained - for half of all cases no cause can be found.
Contraceptive coil (IUD) - the coil can cause heavier, longer periods.
Injectable contraception (Depo Provera) - can cause heavy or prolonged bleeding.
Pelvic disorders:
Fibroids - these benign (not cancerous) growths in the muscular wall of the uterus are a common cause of heavy bleeding.
Polyps - these benign growths of the lining of the uterus may cause heavy bleeding but more commonly lead to spotting between or after periods.
Pelvic inflammatory disease - an infection in the reproductive tract which can cause infertility and chronic pain if untreated.
Endometriosis - a painful condition in which the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.
Endometrial hyperplasia - thickening of the lining of the uterus, leading to heavier bleeding.
Endometrial cancer - cancer of the lining of the uterus, causing heavy periods, bleeding between periods and blood-stained vaginal discharge. Rare, but more common in women after the menopause.
Blood and hormonal conditions:
Hormone imbalances - can stop ovulation (egg release) leading to build-up of endometrium and heavier periods.
Hypothyroidism - an underactive thyroid gland can cause heavier periods.
Blood clotting disorders.
Use of anticoagulant drugs.
Good luck! ;D

There are home remedies to stop the bleeding--black cohosh among others--but after 3 wks, you need to see a doctor. Something isn't right. Either your hormones are out of balance or something else isn't right. 3 wks is just too long. Good luck!

There's no way I know of for a home remedy. Go to your doctor, they may be able to give you something and may want to put you on a birth control pill to regulate your period.
Good luck!

well you cant stop your period, on your own. i think its time you go on a little visit to the doctor. maybe get some birth control or somthing too. it is suppost to make your period, lighter, shorter, and less painful...what a great idea, right?
