My tenor saxophone has a number of dings and scratches on it because I don't keep it in a case when I carry it. Should I spend the money and get one, or just stop playing it? Is abstinence the answer?

No, it is a personal choice! Just make sure you always have your strap on when you have it out in the open.

You shouldn't be playing the sax at your budget level. But in a few years, when you are of enough wealth to buy a case, then you can play it and blow that horn all you want. Remember though, it is too risky and downright foolish not to use a case.

We all get banged up a bit by life if we go about unprotected. Sometimes the experiences make our song sweeter.
Keep playing that sweet saxual music of the night.

Never have unprotected sax. Change your reed often. If you can't get a hard case, use a plastic trash bag. The bags are available ribbed and lubed.

Neither one is the answer. You just need to be careful to have protected sax at all times. It is not too late. Do it now.

If you really enjoy playing the sex, then obviously you should take whatever necessary precautions in order to keep it in good condition. What if water gets on it? That will ruin it. What is sand or other particles get in it? You could choke while playing.

You should keep playing the sax but clean it afterward. Don't let anyone else use your sax or you can spread Saxually Transmitted Diseases

Protect that baby. Remember, if you play, you must pay. So be careful while having the sax.
