It's not a belief issue. A star is an observable thing. Look up at night and you seem them. What may be a belief issue is what they're made of and how they came into existence. Scientists such as astrophysicists, cosmologists and astronomers have put a lot of research into stars over the last hundred years (actually further back than Galileo).

Star who..? Like the stars in the sky? You and your pal should go outside some cloudless day and look around. That big, hot bright thing up in the sky is a star. We call it the 'sun.' Stick around a couple of hours or so until it gets dark and keep looking. You might see thousands of other stars in the sky.
