No it is not human nature it is a part of learned culture. There was sociological research done and in extreme cases of abuse and there were a few. When children have been deprived of all human contact and were not taught anything at all; there were two things they could do. They could eat and the could masturbate. Another words, survival of the species are the only instincts we have, everything else is learned. If you read up on it, it is more acceptable in some societies than others. It is more acceptable now since the sexual revolution in the '70s. For whatever reason society today is under the misapprehension that consequences are not a necessary part of life. What all of this pretty much boils down to is the deterioration and fall of another great civilization. Check all the great civilizations. There was a deterioration in morals in all of them before the end.

Not specifically cheating, but anything that brings us good feelings are part of our nature. Cheating leads to passing the test and perhaps going to college and that feels good. We may feel bad about cheating in general, but here we have a conflict between two sources of feel-good, one is tangible and the effects are widespread, the other is emotional and if we can keep it secret, well..... with a little practice, we can live with it.

Human nature is not so easily defined but cheating is a human behavior because we place too much importance on winning. We're bound to lose because the first loss is focus. When you stop focusing on why you chose your partner and keeping it new and alive, boredom steps in and people step out of boundaries that define relationships.

I do not think so. There are always reasons for people to cheat. Take, for instance, a lonely wife who's husband is always working. She feels slighted by his neglect of her, so she cheats. And some men make a game of seeing how many women they can "bed" before they die.
But couples who love each other deeply and work at having a loving, understanding relationship do not cheat on each other.
Good luck and may God bless you.

In a way.... I think its just the flaw of weak hearted people. You know, like darwins Natural Selection. The weak die and the strong that are able to adapt live, like weak hearted people are sad and strong willed people are happy. Something like that.

i think it is to a certain extent because way back when there were no relationships...the male would choose females that he wanted and mate with them...i think that our human chemistry still has that gene in us that says get with other people, but if you really love someone and respect yourself, you can fight the urge to cheat.

,Certainly as it arises from our need to survive. Granted, all the situations you confront do not entail a risk to your life, but inside your context (work, family, society) certain situations may appear to do so.
Analise your position and ask yourself is you want to survive or impose. Cheating is real, but you'll have to answer to your conscience sooner or later.
