Voodoo is like alot of other types of magick. It can only do as much as you think it can. Voodoo focuses alot on curses and hexes. It also usually is performed for money. Voodoo has a reputation for being evil. (voodoo dolls and curses). It doesn't necessarily have to be though. It is has strong powers in healing and charms.

Nothing, magic does not exist.

On the other hand, the human mind is very easily manipulated and can be convinced that magic is operating on it. So even though a voodoo doll is just a doll, a person could be convince that their pain is due to it.

I think Voodoo relies heavily on the target or victim's belief system, and that mind over matter can be very powerful in and of itself.
That being said, I imagine the possibilities are wide open.

They can do anything, but are limited to things that the victim can believe can happen. You see, voodoo is more mentalism and hypnotism than anything else. And no, the victim will not be affected unless they know what is happening to the doll.
