Well, it seems reasonable to reassess whether or not this is a reasonable goal for you. It may be realistic to at least modify it. For example, suppose I want to write the Great American Novel. I put years into it, and nobody wants to publish it. So do I put years into another? Or do I write some short stories, or take a course in writing, or adjust my ambition to just getting something published? Perhaps I should write non-fiction instead. Or forget the whole thing and take a job as a secretary.

I go see a Stripper to forget about what I failed at ....... then go get drunk at a bikini bar to forget about the Stripper ... but I cant get the Stripper outta my head now for over a year and a half .... so I am miserable ........ so I go drink more at the Bikini Bar ... and I still fail at my job even worse now .... and now I have a 7 week old son .... and less money coming in .... I don't know what to do.... you better ask a different question because if you try to be like me your life will suck ... time to find something more realistic to do with your time ..........

Never give up, but try a different approach....example.....
If I am used to going at it alone, the next time I will ask for help.

Ask someone who has done the same thing and succeeded and then try to do the same. If that fails, maybe it is not worth it in the first place. Good Luck.

Someone just mentioned that phrase "If at first you don't succeed -- Try and try again." Yeah don't believe that. If you continuously fail at a task that must mean that you don't possess the ability to do it. Therefore you should give up and do something else. . . .. . .lest you hurt yourself or something.

I usually sit down and analyze it. I ask myself why did I fail, is there a better way of doing it? Sometimes it helps to get someone to look at the situation because sometimes they can see what should have been obvious to you.

I learn from the mistake and apply what I have learned from it to keep from making the mistake again.

"If you always do, what you always did;
You'll always get what you always got"
Change your strategy. Something is obviously not quite right.
Keep trying if it's worth your time. Don't be afraid of change.
