He's not really showing him. Harry and Voldemort have a connection and Harry is like eavesdropping. However at the end Voldy figures this out and tricks Harry with the fake memory of Sirius. I don't remember the circle of sand from the movie, it isn't in the book. Voldermort needs the prophecy because he's never heard the whole thing. He's only hear part of it and thinks that if he hears the whole thing he'll know how to destroy Harry.

he used Harry's memories to get to him... the upsetting memories. It made him weaker, b/c he played on them. He got inside Harry b/c they were connected. The circle of sand came from when Voldemort shattered the glass, and Dombeldroff turned it into sand. Voldermort needed teh prophecy so he would know that one couldn't live if the other did.
i thought it was an awesome movie!

When Voldy used the Avada Kedavra curse on Harry as a child and it back fired a fragment of his soul joined with Harry's. They share a connection. Voldemort uses it to his advantage and at times so does harry.

when voldy possessed harry, he showed him all the bad memories... but when you see everything that's good, like his friends etc., it's making harry stronger ...cause that's love...read the book, you'll understand much more.

Read the book, it is way better than the movie. For me, the movie was a major disappointment.

Read the book, you'll understand more things that the films cannot go deep into.
