When is he not looking for a way out. I don't even know how the man won in the first place. It must've been his dad

The only similarities between Vietnam and Iraq is this .....Vietnam is the 2nd biggest US foreign policy blunder ever made and Iraq is the 1st biggest US foreign policy blunder. That is where any similarities end. How exactly are you pulling Bush Sr into Vietnam? He was not the president during any part of Vietnam.

I would say that the similarities are growing so glaringly obvious that his handlers felt compelled to try and put some kind of positive albeit absurd spin on the situation, a pretty lame attempt to say the least. Also I do believe his daddy (#41) was in the CIA (director?) during the Viet Nam war, not sure of the years though.

Vietnam was another limited war that was not fought to be won but to increase defense spending and profits for U.S corporations while the media and politicians worked to prevent the working class from reaching a point where it could maintain itself . They increased property taxes wrote thousands of laws restricting an individuals ability to operate a small business and made it possible to begin breaking the Unions which the Government and those at the top feared .

I don't really see the connection, but ok.
I mean the connection between Bush looking for his dad to find a way out and Vietnam. Of course I see the connection between Iraq and Vietnam.

He got special privileges of becoming part of the national guard even though there were better qualified people for the pilot position trying to get the job. This allowed him to avoid the Vietnam War.
Now he is telling us we should of fought better in th Vietnam War. I cant stand these chicken hawks that are willing to have others make sacrifices as they play rancher in Texas.
Whats next, do we invade Ho Chi Min city to right a wrong?

Dubya is attempting to make correlations between other wars and his illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.
(Keep in mind, there was never a declaration of war - only an authorization to use military force).
When he compares it to WWII it is a joke, because if Dubya had been preznit then, we would've invaded australia in retribution for pearl harbor. (Oh, keep in mind that his granddaddy was in business with the Nazis too, as were many other big businesses in America, at least until the government forced them to stop).
When he compares it to Vietnam, it is a joke, because he was busy getting a comfy slot in the TANG thanks to family connections. If he had been preznit, he would've invaded Kansas.
edit: lol @ the moron who thinks that 'liberals lost vietnam' and probably thinks liberals are causing dubya to lose in iraq - (when they aren't lying to make it sound like they aren't losing).

Definitely, Lil' Bush is a jerk. The only thing he knows about Vietnam is what he learned after he got in office. He ran like a scared rabbit when it was time go there.

What was amazing about it was his assertion that we left too soon.Is that supposed to mean that we're supposed to stay another 7 years before we realize we're beating that dead horse.
He also said that our withdrawal allowed the rise of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.Wrong.
Nixon's Cambodian Invasion was the direct cause of the Khmer Rouge. They did not exist before then.Nixon's destabilization of that country created the conditions that allowed for their birth, just as Bush's invasion has created the so-called "Al Qaeda in Iraq".In other words, the stupidity of both these men created whole new classes of enemies where they did not exist beforehand.

He doesn't need his dad, his dad didn't get the job done the first time, remember? The thing that ties the two wars is the media and the liberals and protesters who lost the war for us. They haven't suceeded yet with this one but are trying hard. To bad cause they never offer a better way to handle anything.

It is a decent comparison for the obvious reasons of our entanglement. Also, there is similarity in that the South Vietnamese Government and Military was equally as incompetent ruling the people and providing security as the Iraqi Government and military
