Recession hurts the people on top the most... people who are playing on Y!A probably aren't on the top...
When you don't have far to fall, you don't really feel the drop.

Many people are talking about it, but it seems like youre meaning presidential candidates, am I right?
If so, look into the 1920's. They were in exactly the same situation-artifically heightened economy set to pop. Many people knew it at the time, but they did the same tactic as today and it worked then-ignore the bad parts and hype up the good parts implying that theyll continue forever. It works fine because about half the country blames the previous president and the other half blames the new guy. They ignore that it took a combo of both to make it happen along with every president and economic strategist for previous 10-20 years to set it up and fail to stop it.

It's not odd, but then, that's why the Bush appointed Fed Head has done a surprise rate cut and a massive injection of monies into the currency markets.
