This question is asked so many times. I suggest you type "Seattle weather" under the search section for Y!A. You will see many of the same questions about Seattle weather and the many responses for them. None of them get many responses, but this way, you can find many diverse responses and get a better idea of what the Seattle weather is like, rather than depending on the few answers you get yourself.

Correction--only Californians and other folks from comparatively tropical areas consider Washington "cold". Washington's got a very mild, temperate climate, especially western Washington. Seattle also is not the rainiest place in the U.S., regardless of its reputation; we have many cloudy and rainy days, yes, but the rain is rarely if ever torrential; and we also rarely see much snow in the Seattle area--although when we DO see it, everyone loses their freaking minds. Nobody has the sense to stay home or take public transportation when it snows, and it doesn't help that the snow plows don't really plow the snow, or even bother sprinkling salt to melt it. All the same, our weather is quite mild and pleasant. The summers in western Washington are quite nice, although the sunniest, warmest months tend to be July through September or so. Most of the people I hear complaining about the weather are people who weren't born here--they're also the only ones who use umbrellas when it rains.

I was raised in orange county, currently living in tampa, and am planning on moving to seattle sometime next year. If you look up on most of the whether reports seattle is very nice. One thing i read was that seattle does rain a lot but it is not the most rainy place in the US for example D.C. get more rainfall then seattle. The thing about seattle is the cloudy days. Everything I've read it sounds like san diego during the summer and san fran in the winter as far as the temp. if you get my drift?

All of that nice rain keeps temps in the summer months very tolerable. Florida rain makes everything more hot, humid and flat out uncomfortable. Winters don't get that cold either in Seattle. If you are a generally depressed person I wouldn't recommend Seattle because they say the lack of sun makes people more easily depressed. Hope this helped some.

I was stationed in Washington before. And I would have to say that out of alot of the places I have visited/lived in Washington is the best. I was stationed in Florida liked it but im a west coast girl. Also lived in cali, so out of those three I will tell you the weather in Seattle is the best. Good luck.

We moved to Seattle from Texas - big change! It rains often but not much. In Texas, we get thunderstorms with lots of rain falling in a shorter amount of time. In Seattle, it mists and sprinkles a lot but not much in the way the way downpours.
