k = [ - 2 ± √(- 76) ] / 8
k = [ - 2 ± 2√(- 19) ] / 8
k = [ - 2 ± 2 √(19 i ²) ] / 8
k = [ - 1 ± i √(19) ] / 4

a = 4
b = 2
c = 5

k = (-b +- sqrt (b^2 - 4ac)) / 2a
= [-2 +- sqrt (2^2 - 4*4*5)] / 2(4)
= [-2 +- sqrt (4 - 80)] / 8
= [-2 +- sqrt (-76)] / 8
= [-2 +- 2i sqrt 19] / 8
